Crèche is an installation of Meags’ parents’ bedroom at the time of her homebirth. By using domestic crafts, Meags participates in a history of women’s work to address maternal lineage, the distortions of memory and her personal history. The piece, requiring nine months to complete also emulates a woman’s gestation period.

In 2009, Crèche was installed in the Marion Nicoll Gallery and Illingworth Kerr Gallery in Calgary and select pieces were exhibited in Home and Away in Toronto.
